ADVERTISING AGENCY JOB
I've moved beyond the envelope stuffing and I am now at an advertising agency job. I've gotten a chance to see and experience so many different work environments that I feel really confident about where I am now, moreso than I would be if I jumped into just one environment straightaway. That's what I love about temporary staffing agencies. What's funny is a couple week before I had been thinking about what I'd really like to do and the thought crossed my mind that it would be neat if I found a position where I could essentially read through magazines all day. Then literally a few days after that thought, I got a phone call from the temporary staffing firm notifying me of a position at an ad agency where someone was needed to work in the tearsheet department. Curious, I inquired further and they said the job would involve scanning through a wide variety of magazines and newspapers to search for specific advertisements that ran and I would have to clip them out and send them to the clients so they could have proof that the advertisements ran. I couldn't believe it. I do this on my own time anyways! My eight bookshelves can barely contain all the magazines and newspapers I have. I love reading and I'm always clipping quirky articles and pictures out of them for my portfolios to gather ideas. I love reading so this job is a piece of cake for me. I'm impressed the temporary staffing firm was able to find a match like this.
