COTTAGE INDUSTRY
My hair loss was becoming a cottage industry around the house. What I mean by that is that Tara had turned stopping my hair loss into a mission. We had hair loss products all over the house. I was amazed at how many their were. Since last Fall I had been losing my hair. Why, I didn't know. There was nothing physically wrong with me, and nobody in my immediate family suffered from hair loss, on my mother or father's sides. This stumped me. It could be due to stress. It had been a stressful year. One by one, Tara wanted me to try various cures. I tried to tell her that I didn't believe there was any cure for baldness. Tara disagreed. She said the ancient Egyptians even had a cure for baldness. Had I ever seen a balk pharaoh, she wanted to know. Well, actually I had. In the movies, they usually didn't have much hair. That's because they shaved their heads. Then I suggested that I shave my head and be done with it. She said I would look like Mr. Egghead, due to the shape of my skull. So I was rubbing and pasting and cooking things into my head.
