IDENTITY THEFT
Yesterday at the bank, I was waiting in a long line and heard one of the ladies at the counter becoming flustered and crying. I felt so bad for this woman. She was holding a baby and had a toddler next to her. She was saying how her identity had been stolen a few weeks before and while they were trying to get everything fixed, her husband lost his job. Poor thing was saying her husband was looking at the bankruptcy laws and really felt they should file. She had tried to reassure him that they didn't need to, that the identity theft would get straightened out and then they could get a temporary loan to support them while he looked for another job. Well, apparently things had gotten worse. Somehow, someone had cleaned out her bank account. What little money they did have left was gone and she didn't know what to do. She said she may have to tell her husband that he was right and they needed to file. The woman at the counter obviously felt bad too, so she assured her that they would have the money back into the account the next day, as it was clear that it was stolen. I can't imagine what this poor woman was feeling, just before the holiday's too.
