My friend just called today to tell me he's quitting his job and going back to school. He was saying he's thought about it long and hard and what he really wants to do is become a personal injury attorney. I think the news kind of stunned me. He always said that he felt like he was going nowhere fast and he was just one of those people who seemed like they weren't going to snap out of that mode of thinking. He said it just got too depressing for him to work behind a department store counter. He really felt like there was something more. He said he was always fascinated with the work that personal injury attorneys do and then he just decided that it was within his capacity to do it too! I think his determination has me examining my own life a little more closely. He told me he's not able to give up the department store just yet. He wants to discuss some things with his manager. He said he's either going to try to negotiate a higher salary to put himself through school or he thinks that maybe they'd be willing to cover most of his tuition since he's one of their best employees. I wished him luck!
